"Quantico" star Priyanka Chopra needed to be rushed to the ER after suffering from a bad fall while filming the rest of the second season of the show. After being diagnosed with a concussion, she was eventually released from the hospital and advised to rest for a few days.
ET Online reports that Chopra, who admitted that she does her best to keep fit as she does her own stunts as Alex Parrish, was filming a stunt when she slipped and her head took the brunt of the fall. Being given a clean bill of health by the doctor who examined her, she is expected to be back shooting for season 2 by next week. Her injury made her unable to attend the morning press event for the show in New York City.
Speaking of the show, "Quantico" will premiere the second half of its season 2 on January 23. Screener TV reports that the show will no longer be using the flashback technique in the second half of the season.
That technique proved to be successful when "Quantico" first aired, but the audience soon grew tired and viewers rating had gone down since then. The season 1 of the thriller drama from ABC focused on Alex and her friends' training while in Quantico, which happened in the past, and a future timeline which showed Alex clearing her name from being touted as a terrorist.
The winter finale episode, entitled "Odenvy", ended with Ryan being revealed as an ally of the CLF. The next half of season 2 will surely address this betrayal of Alex's lover.
Aside from that storyline, a new character is set to join the cast for the remainder of season 2. Deadline reports that Hunter Parrish, whose previous projects include "The Good Wife" and "Weeds", will be playing the part of a political strategist who will help both the CIA and FBI after the hostage crisis.
