'X-Files' Season 11 Might Happen According to Fox Broadcasting President

There's good news for all the "X-Files" fans out there. It seems that there is a big possibility that a season 11 of the popular show might show by 2018. Fox Broadcasting Company President David Madden confirmed that there have been a lot of conversations regarding a possible renewal of the show for season 11.

"We hope so," Madden said, as reported by Eonline. "A lot of conversations going on, these conversations are complex but we hope to be able to announce something about that shortly." This announcement was made during an executive session of the Television Critics Association this week.

If it happens, Fox may not order the full 2 episodes, but Madden is hoping that it will be more than the six episodes on season 10 that was shown last January 2016. There is still no official statement from Fox that season 11 will happen, but the statements given springs new hope for the longtime fans of the series, as stated by ET Online.

It was in 2016 when David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reunited to play the characters of Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Set more than 13 years after the series ended its season 9 in 2002, the six episodes of season 10 left fans with a cliffhanger and a desire to see more of their favorite duo.

One of the reasons that Fox cannot commit to announcing a return of "X-Files" season 11 is that there is still the question on whether series stars Duchovny and Anderson will have their schedules aligned in order to shoot more episodes. It seems that they are busy with their own projects so scheduling a shooting date is proving to be difficult.

But despite that, the very fact that an announcement was made that there is a big possibility that "X-Files" will be back for season 11 already has many fans anticipating the return. Many are of course hoping for more episodes and a conclusion to the cliffhanger that ended season 10.
