Woody Harrelson Is Tapped To Be Han Solo’s Mentor In The Spin-Off Movie

Woody Harrelson's Haymitch Abernathy has been a mentor to Jennifer Lawrence's Katniss Everdeen. Now, it seems like Harrelson will be a mentor once again in the upcoming Han Solo spin-off movie.

It has been reported that Woody Harrelson has been in the talks with the producers to play Han Solo's mentor in the upcoming movie. He is reportedly the top choice to play the role.

Cinema Blend reported that if Harrelson will be part of the untitled Han Solo spin-off movie, he will include stars like Donald Glover and budding actor Alden Ehnrenreich, who will play Han Solo. The site reported that Emilia Clarke already joined the movie but her role remains undisclosed.

According to the site, it is not just Harrelson tapped to play in the spin-off movie even legendary actor Christian Bale is also thrown into the mix. There is little known about the upcoming spin-off series, except that it's a prequel to "Star Wars: A New Hope."

Actually, this is very similar to "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" that also took place before the events of the 1st Star Wars film. Travelers Today reported that the movie is the third highest grossing film of 2016. It has already surpassed movies like "The Secret Life of Pets," "The Jungle Book" and "Deadpool."

There are also rumors speculating that the movie will show how Han Solo manage to own the Millennium Falcon. It is speculated the spin-off movie will somehow have a connection with "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back."

Variety reported that the unnamed Han Solo spin-off movie will begin production this month. The site reported that one of the producers of the show Allison Shearmur had worked with Woody Harrelson in "The Hunger Games" for Lionsgate.

The ovie is set to be released on May 25, 2018. Even though, there has been rumors that it was delayed until December 13, 2018. To date, there has been no official announcements on who Han Solo's mentor would be.
