"Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" will be showing this year. Netflix decided to release new photos and trailers from the upcoming series.
The series will be based on the internationally acclaimed book of the same title. It follows the tragic life of the Baudelaire children named Violet, Klaus and Sunny.
Their misfortunes started when their parents died in a fire. They are then given to Count Olaf who maltreat the kids and wants nothing but to get his hands on the inheritance of the children, Coming Soon reported.
Using their wits, the kids do everything to outsmart Count Olaf, foiling his devious plans, ridiculous disguises and avoiding his henchmen on their own since none of the adults tend to believe them. In the process, they discover clues on the mysterious fire that killed their parents.
According to Screen Crush, Director Barry Sonnenfield will be creating the eight episode live-action series adaptation of the beloved book. It can be remembered that "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" first graced the screens in 2004.
However, the movie was unsuccessful even though it stars Jim Carrey as Count Olaf. Despite this, the "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" novels sold countless of copies and spawned a great deal of collectibles like board games and albums.
The Netflix original production will be composed of eight episodes. It stars Neil Patrick Harris (Count Olaf), Malina Weissman (Violet Baudelaire), Louis Hynes (Klaus Baudelaire) and Presley Smith (Sunny).
Patrick Warburton will play Lemony Snicket, the narrator of the movie. Joan Cusack will play Justice Strauss. Alfred Woodard will take the role of Aunt Josephine.
Catherine O'Hara will play the role of Dr. Orwell, while, K. Todd Freeman will be Mr. Poe). Actor Aasif Maandvu will be Uncle Monti and Don Johnson will play the role of Sir. According to Travelers Today, "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" will premiere on Netflix on January 13, 2017.
