It looks like Neo, the lead character in the hit sci-fi action movie "The Matrix," could make a comeback, as Keanu Reeves is willing to reprise his role. But the "John Wick 2" actor will only return if the fourth movie will meet several conditions.
According to a report by Yahoo! Movies, Reeves would be willing to play Neo again if the Wachowskis would be involved in the movie. The sister duo would have to be the one to write the script and direct the movie. Lana and Lilly are the ones who wrote, direct, and produced all three "Matrix" films.
But aside from the Wachowskis being involved, the script for the fourth "Matrix" movie would have to be worthwhile. Reeves adds that it would be "weird, buy why not?"
"People die, stories don't," Reeves said in the interview. "People in stories don't."
For those who have watched the three films, it can be remembered that Neo sacrificed himself towards the end of "The Matrix Revolutions" to stop the war between the surviving humans and the machines. The report adds that the ending, though, provided a way for Reeves character to return.
The report said that Sati asked The Oracle if they'll ever see Neo again. She replied with "I suspect so. Someday."
Screen Rant reports that the "someday" could be sooner than expected since Reeves is on-board for a possible fourth film. The question, though, would be the Wachowskis. Do they want to do another "Matrix" movie?
The report adds that the sisters last directed a film in 2015, which was "Jupiter Ascending." They do have an ongoing series in Netflix, entitled "Sense8" and is already in season 2.
But with Reeves willing, the report said that it's not hard to see the Wachowskis considering this. Check out the ending of the battle scene of "The Matrix Revolutions" between Neo and Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving) in the video below.
