‘Kong: Skull Island’ Video Clip Reveals Character Of John Goodman Part Of Monarch, Hints Godzilla Connection

The latest video clip for "Kong: Skull Island" features Samuel L. Jackson's Lieutenant Colonel Packard asking questions, while pointing a gun to John Goodman's Bill Randa about the island. Randa revealed that he's part of Monarch, which means the movie somehow has a connection with Godzilla.

According to a report from Nathali Caron of Syfy Wire, Monarch is a secret scientific organization that specializes in hunting Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organisms or M.U.T.O. The organization was first mentioned in the 2014 movie "Godzilla," produced by Legendary Pictures. The organization tried to kill the monster in 1954 but had little success.

Caron said that the reference to Monarch has shown that the movie "Kong: Skull Island" is connected to Godzilla. This means that giant kaiju exists in the same world that Legendary Pictures' latest movie is taking place in.

Comic Book reports that the connection between the two movies is no coincidence as Legendary Pictures do have a plan to create a cinematic universe about the two monsters. So fans can expect to see Godzilla and King Kong duking it out in the future.

Legendary Pictures' "Kong: Skull Island" follows its 2014 release of "Godzilla." The company plans to come out with a sequel to "Godzilla" in 2019. The movie "Godzilla vs. Kong" movie is being targeted for a 2020 release, which will see the two monsters battling each other.

The latest movie, which will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, is scheduled to premiere on March 10, 2017. It stars Jackson, Goodman, Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, and John C. Reilly. The cast also includes Tian Jing, John Ortiz, Corey Hawkins, Thomas Mann, Jason Mitchell, Shea Whigham, Eugene Cordero, and Toby Kebbell.

"Kong: Skull Island" is a reimagined version of the origins of King Kong and is directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, who directed movies like "Kings of Summer." Check out the latest video clip in the video below.
