‘The House' First Trailer Reveals Hilarious Storyline Featuring Will Ferrell And Amy Poehler

The first trailer for the comedy movie "The House," which stars Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler has been released. The trailer showed that the two comedians, who play husband and wife, illegally opens up a casino in their basement to raise money to send their daughter to a university.

According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, the trailer showed that the duo's illegal casino quickly expanded to include several other offerings. It features a nail salon, MMA fights between suburban wives, kid DJ, and a strip club.

The report adds that the trailer even showed Poehler going "full Scarface with the flamethrower" after saying in a previous scene "I feel like a badass b****." Poehler also gave comments as to what it was like to film the movie.

She told Entertainment Weekly in an interview that the project became easier to do when they decided she and Ferrell should portray the couple as a team than as enemies. She said that it became easier to do the movie, as "it changed the dynamic."

An official synopsis came with the trailer, care of the Den of Geek, and it said that the couple was desperate to earn back the money that they lost that was supposed to be used for their daughter's college tuition. They wanted their daughter Alex to "pursue her dream of attending a university."

The synopsis adds that Scott and Kate Johansen (the characters Ferrell and Poehler plays) set up the illegal casino with the help of their neighbor Frank, who's played by Jason Mantzoukas. Frank can be heard in the trailer saying: "You wanna make money like Vegas, you gotta look like Vegas."

"The House" is set to premiere in theaters on June 30, 2017. Andrew Jay Cohen directed the movie and co-wrote the script with Brendan O'Brien. Check out the first trailer for the movie in the video below.
