A new update for Pokemon Go is now available but it does not contain anything interesting. The game has received an update that does not do anything worth remembering. The new update turns off unwanted vibrations but does not add a holiday event that a few expected.
Niantic has release a new update for Pokemon go but it contains no new features. The update for Android and iOS only includes some needed bug fixes. The news update, which was released on Devember 19, includes other minor adjustments.
According to gaming website GameSpot, the update version 0.51.0 for Android and 1.21.0 for iOS fixes an issue with the game sending vibration notifications at an inappropriate time. The update also adjusts the day-night cycle to better reflect the player's actual time of day. Some text were fixed as well.
Gaming website VG247 reported that it does not, however, add more holiday content in addition to the already existing but somewhat disappointing Pokemon Go holiday event. Someone on the Pokemon Go Reddit predicted that due to the timing of previous holiday events and updates, a major announcement would be unveiled but instead, nothing happened.
According to WIRED UK magazine, previously, Niantic had adjusted the spawn rate for Pokemon. Niantic increased the spawn rate, making it slightly easier for players to catch Pokemon.
The update was revealed on the official Pokeon Go Twitter feed. The announcement reported to players that there was an increase in the number of Pokemon sightings in parks and other outdoor locations in urban and rural areas.
How frequently Pokemon show up in the game's world map is determined by the spawn rate. Player before had to walk for long distances, especially in rarely visited locations, until a Pokemon might show up. This adjustment should boost the chances of players who are trying to complete their collection of Pokemon.
It is not clear whether the change results in more common Pokemon appearing or more rare Pokemon will be found. It is also unclear if the change will be temporary or permanent to Pokemon Go.
