Pan Am Sets Luxury 2025 Tour

Not just as a memory, Pan Am is coming back to leading roles in luxury travel. Next year, the airline is throwing an ultra-exclusive 12-day journey with the promise of bringing back the old days' opulence.

It will cost $59,950 per person, with a few of Pan Am's historic routes across the Atlantic, stopping first in New York and then Bermuda, Lisbon, London, and other glamorous places.

This tour is part of Pan Am's greater initiative to bring the brand back into today's modern markets; it aims to reclaim the magic of flying, as people experienced it in the early times of air travel.

The guests will fly in a Boeing 757 configured for all business classes for added comfort and style, much like it used to be in the golden age of flying.

The Pan Am Museum Foundation will sponsor the voyage and partner with luxury venues and event planners. Guests will stay in the world's best-rated hotels, including the Rosewood in Bermuda and London's Savoy.

These aren't just simple stops but part of an immersion, with special events including a night of fado music in Portugal and a celebratory gala at New York City's Waldorf Astoria.

This doesn't stop here with the initiative by Pan Am. Another big event is being cooked up for 2027 to mark a century since the founding of the airline.

Pan Am's Lasting Influence

From 1927, Pan Am was apparently an icon in aeronautics that gained fame by introducing the world to low-cost air travel through its economy class in 1945.

The corporation folded in 1991, but its influence is still on air, drawing from its golden era of the late 1950s to the early 1970s when it flew to 86 countries.

The airline headlined so many aspects of contemporary flying. In 1961, the company collaborated with IBM to introduce PANAMAC, a formidable reservation system that transformed the way airlines operated flight and reservation services.

With the new system, Pan Am was able to retain its lead in the industry by becoming one of the first to implement jetliners, including the Boeing 707 and the fabulous Boeing 747, which saved Boeing from financial ruin.

The stylish aura of Pan Am found its way into popular culture, most notably in this 1968 science fiction film that featured a Pan Am spaceship flying in the future.

Apart from these more sartorial contributions, few can forget the great legacy that the airline has had upon aviation fashion: naval-inspired pilot uniforms created a look that survives today in pilots' attire.
