Spanish La Liga powerhouse and UEFA Champions League titlist Real Madrid is making late push for striker Radamel Falcao and Alvaro Negredo before the transfer window ends on Monday, according to Caught Offside.
After signing a slew of elite names this offseason, Real Madrid appears to be set to add one final piece to the puzzle by acquiring the service of either Monaco's Falcao or Manchester City's Negredo.
Falcao, who is considered one of the finest goal-scorers in European football, has expressed his frustrations with Monaco ever since his Colombian buddy James Rodriguez joined Real Madrid on €80 million transfer fee.
The Colombian striker admitted that his ultimate dream is to play for his favorite team Real Madrid, but English Premier League giants Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool all tried to negotiate with Monaco for his service.
On Saturday, it seems Falcao is heading to join the Galactico after posting a comment on Twitter suggesting a completion of his transfer from the Ligue 1 team to the Spanish La Liga powerhouse.
"Sueno hencho realidad, #HalaMadrid Dream Come True," tweeted Falcao, who scored just 11 goals as a member of AC Monaco.
However, Falcao immediately deleted his tweet as Man City also ready to make a big push for the 28-year old goal-machine.
'We have another 48 hours, we will see what happens,' Manuel Pellegrini told the Daily Mail two days before the end of the transfer period. 'We have a restriction about the amount of money we can spend and the amount of players we can use.'
In case Manchester City manages to salvage Falcao, Real Madrid is reported interested to bring back Negredo, who played his youth days with the European title holder.
Falcao's possible arrival would make Negredo a surplus for Man City, which already has Edin Dzeko, Sergio Aguero and Stevan Jovetic. Negredo scored 23 goals last season, but injuries hampered him towards the end of their 2013-14 campaign.
"Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and even Stevan Jovetic are all likely to be ahead of Negredo in the Man City pecking order at present and the arrival of Falcao would leave the former Sevilla man struggling to even make the bench," according to Caught Offside.
