Manchester United is reportedly looking to unload Mexican striker Javier Hernandez, who will likely join Italia Serie A powerhouse Juventus in the coming hours.
The 26-year old Hernandez might have already played his last game with the struggling Red Devils, as reports indicated his transfer move to the Old Lady will be finalized upon Man United's approval.
"After being sought out by several teams this summer, sources indicate Javier Hernandez would have said 'yes' to a bid from Italian Champion Juventus. Chicharito's move to the Turin-based team would be announced in the following hours, after the Red Devils approve the transfer," according to Live Soccer TV.
Red Devils manager Louis Van Gaal, who stays winless in his new job after seeing Man United play to a scoreless draw with inferior team Burnley FC, already said that he's going to give several players in his roster - including Chichirito - the chance to join other team before the transfer window expires on Monday.
"I've given those players the opportunity to stay or leave until September 1st, it's their choice to move or not. I've told him my opinion, and the player can do with it whatever he wants," Van Gaal stated in an interview with English media.
"I will not interfere in the transfer process, Ed Woodward is handling that situation. But if he asks what I think, of course I will speak my mind about those players I want to bring here and also about those who I think would be better off elsewhere."
Hernandez arrived at Old Trafford in 2010 with the hope of becoming a successful striker. Despite showing flashes of brilliance, the Mexican just couldn't find his way out of the shadow of much-accomplished strikers Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie.
In Juventus, Hernandez is expected to compete for playing time against former Man United forward Carlos Tevez, Fernando Llorente and Alvaro Morata.
Meanwhile, Man United is reportedly close to adding another excellent midfielder to their lineup just days after completing transfer for Angel di Maria. The Red Devils are on the verge of acquiring Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal.
