Netflix has added the 3D CG anime film adaption of sci-fi action manga series "Gantz: O" last Saturday to its streaming service. Fans who want to watch the film has the option of watching in either Japanese or English audio.
According to a report from Crunchyroll, the anime film came out in the fall of 2016. It featured the Osaka arc of the manga series, which is created by Hiroya Oku.
The synopsis for the anime film reads that a group of deceased people was revived to help defeat an army of monsters. They're given hi-tech weapons and must use it as they battle through Tokyo and Osaka.
Anime News Network reported that the anime film's subtitle is available in several languages. Fans can choose from English, Japanese, French, Traditional Chinese, and Spanish.
The outlet adds that Bob Buchholz is the dialogue translator and director. He is joined by casts who dubbed the film in English, such as Austin Chase, who voices Ayumu, Bryce Papenbrook, who voices Kimura, and Cherami Leigh as the Gantz Ball.
The English dub casts also include Cristina Vee, who voices Yamasaki, Doug Erholtz as Oka, Steve Heiser, who voices Shimaki, Josiah Wills, who played Nurarihyon, Keith Silverstein as Muroya, and Taylor Henry, who voices Demon Nurari. Completing the casts are Kaiji Tang as Kato, Laura Post as Reika, Tony Azzolino as Taira, Kyle McCarley, who plays Nishi, Todd Haberkorn, who plays Suzuki, and Lucien Dodge, who voices Kurono.
The CG anime film was directed by Keiichi Satou and Yasushi Kawamura. The screenplay was written by Tsutomu Kuroiwa, while Yoshihiro Ike composed the anime film's music. Digital Frontier was the one who handled the production.
The film was based on the original manga, where a young man named Kei was reanimated after dying in a subway accident. An unseen host orders Kei and other reanimated people on violent and non-stop missions. Check out the trailer for the "Gantz: O" anime film in the video below.
