The producers of "Stranger Things" Season 2 had asked the producers of "Game of Thrones" for some advice about how they will promote the second season of the hit series. The producers asked how they can keep spoiler of the show off the Internet.
According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, the hit show's executive producer Shawn Levy said they needed to consult with executives from HBO's hit series to learn about "security protocols." He said that it wasn't needed when they were doing season 1 of "Stranger Things."
"We had no security protocols last season and we have extensive security protocols this season," Levy said. "I can't speak about what they are because then people could crack them. We protect every story point, every page of every script."
Even star actress Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven in the series, is being cautious about leaking information about season 2, according to the report. She said that they now use code names for the show, as well as a code name for her.
"On the call sheets our names are across it and if we lose it, we're dead," she said. Screen Rant reported that there wasn't much concern for leaks or paparazzi for season 1, that's why security protocols weren't needed.
But with the series experiencing success, security protocols are needed for season 2. The report adds that the series hasn't been that quiet, though, as certain information has already been revealed. Particularly, the new characters that will be joining the cast in season 2.
The report said that Sean Astin, who will be playing Bob, is already part of season 2, as well as Dacre Montgomery and Sadie Sink, who will play the brother-sister duo in Billy and Max. Paul Reiser will also be part of season 2, playing Dr. Owens, the person who will run the lab that Eleven was held in.
Season 2 of "Stranger Things" is scheduled to premiere in October this year. Check out the short trailer for the hit series in the video below.
