A new story that's set in the world of "Game of Thrones" is set to be released this year by George R.R. Martin. The novel "Book of Swords" is set to come out this October.
According to Rose Moore from Screen Rant, the novel will be an anthology series and it will be edited by Gardner Dozois. The novel will be a collection of "fifteen original tales celebrating fantasy's golden age of sword and sorcery."
Moore also said that the anthology series will include a story that Martin created and that story will be set in the world of "Game of Thrones." Aside from the description in the book, no more details have been provided, but she adds that fans have speculated that the story could be an exerpt from the planned book, "Fire And Blood." The planned book will be about the complete history of the House of Targaryen.
Moore adds that the story could also be completely unrelated to what's currently happening in "Game of Thrones." She said that the universe that Martin created is complex and detailed that he can come up with stories that can be set at any point in time in his universe's history.
If Martin decides to create a story that's unrelated to the current events of "Game of Thrones," Moore said it would disappoint the fans of the hit HBO series. These fans have already become attached to the series that they'd be clamoring for anything related to it.
The hardcover of the novel "Book of Swords" is set to be released on October 10, 2017, according to Amazon.com. The hardcover can be bought for $22.80, $21.66 for the Kindle version. Fans can now start pre-ordering the book. Check out an interview with the "Game of Thrones" author, Martin, in the video below.
