It looks like Netflix has come out with the release date schedule of a slew of new and returning original series for 2017. This includes hit series such as "House of Cards," "Stranger Things," "Orange is the New Black," and more.
According to a report from Business Insider, the company is planning to come out with 1,000 hours of original shows and movies this year. Netflix will also be spending $6 billion for all of these releases.
The report adds that this is more than the 600 hours the company released in 2016. This means people who want to binge watching will have to 41 days to see all of these releases. Some of the series to be released this year are season 5 of "House of Cards," which is scheduled to premiere on May 30, and "Orange is the New Black," which is scheduled for a June 9 release.
"Stranger Things" Season 2 is scheduled for an October 31 releases, while season 2 of "The OA" is scheduled for a December release. Other Netflix original to be released this year are "The Crown" Season 2, which is scheduled for a late November released, "Gracie and Frankie" Season 3, which will premiere on March 24, and season 3 of "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," to be released on May 19.
Aside from returning series, Netflix came out with the 2017 release date schedule of its new original series. One of them is "The Defenders," which brings together Marvel Superheroes' Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Daredevil, according to a report from The Express. The company though didn't come out with a release date yet but teased it for a summer 2017 release.
Business Insider's report also mentioned other new original series like "Marvel's Iron Fist," which is scheduled for a March 17 release, "Anne," which is set for a May 12 release, "Girlboss," which will begin airing on April 23 and "Dear White People," which will premiere on April 28.
Other new series that Netflix provided with a release date schedule for 2017 includes, "Samurai Gourmet," for a March 17 release, "Ingobernable," which will air on March 24, and "Bill Nye Saves the World" that will premiere on April 21. Netflix will also be coming out with new original series like "Atypical," "Dark," "Disjointed," "Friends From College," "Glow," "Kiss Me First," Las Chicas del Cable," and "Gypsy."
