A teaser trailer for season 5 of "Samurai Jack" has been released and it shows that this season will be much darker. The fifth season will also be the final season of Jack and it will be different from the previous four.
Kevin Fitzpatrick of ScreenCrush reported that season 5 will be set fifty years after the last season ended. And it will feature a different Jack, at least from what the people are accustomed to.
Fitzpatrick said that the show's writer, Darrick Bachman, previously said that Jack will not be the heroic samurai that people remember him to be in this new season. "Now we pick up with him and it's many years after the fact and he's a little bit lost," Bachman said.
Bachman also said that the story of season 5 will be about redemption and Jack trying to rediscover who is again. Araceli Roach of Screen Rant said that "Samurai Jack" Season 5 will basically have a cohesive story and a more mature tone as it concludes Jack's journey.
Roach adds that the hero will also be sporting a beard, using firearms and wearing an armour as "time has not been kind to Jack." The new Jack basically resembles his arch nemesis, Aku, in some ways.
Fans will even have one episode in the season where they will see Jack dealing with killing a person for the first time, after only dealing with robots, according to Roach. He adds that season 5 will basically be a wild ride for fans.
Though the newest teaser for "Samurai Jack" Season 5, didn't reveal much information about the series, Roach said it basically shows how dark the season will be. The new season is set to premiere on March 11, 2017, as part of Adult Swim. Check out the brief teaser in the video below.
