DJI confirmed that it has discontinued the production of Phantom 4, and Phantom 3 Professional. In addition, Phantom 3 Advanced, and Phantom 3 4K production are terminated.
DJI Prioritizes DJI Mavic Pro Direct Clients
There was a lot of pressure on the brand new DJI Mavic Pro orders that caused customer rants since November 2016 due to shipping delays. Perhaps, this pushed DJI to have come up with a decision to free up some resources to manufacture products. In a report by Suas News, they furnished a copy of an email sent by DJI to its dealers in relation to DJI Mavic Pro delivery. The letter claimed that the production is releasing more crafts, however, they are withholding all production at the time being, to service their own clients on DJI.COM until the end of January 2017.
DJI Terminating Other Drones Production
In the same letter to the dealer, DJI also disclosed that some of its drones production are terminated. Among them is DJI Phantom 4, which the company advised that its production is terminated but still has some stocks left. DJI Phantom 3 Professional and DJI Phantom 3 Advanced production were also discontinued. Moreover, the letter disclosed that as soon as the company gets the DJI Mavic Pro production sorted out, the consumer drones will be limited to the Mavic Pro, the Phantom 4 Pro and the Phantom 4 Pro Plus.
DJI Support For Terminated Products
Since the products are now being terminated, the greatest dilemma of customers is the after sales support. On this regard, Wetalkuav contacted DJI to get the company's response to this impending problem. According to them, DJI guaranteed that they will still offer technical support and repair for the Phantom 4, Phantom 3 Pro, Advanced and 4K and it would take about 2 weeks to have your drone repaired or replaced. With the termination of the above-mentioned products, it appears that the company is giving priority to DJI Mavic Pro.
