It seems Sonequa Martin-Green landing a big role on "Star Trek: Discovery" won't mean death for her character Sasha on "The Walking Dead." There's still the possibility that Martin-Green can juggle her schedules for both TV series.
Dalton Ross of Entertainment Weekly talked to the "The Walking Dead" showrunner Scott M. Gimple about Sasha's future. But he believes Martin-Green can juggle her schedule. "I've seen her battle a horde of walkers this year while simultaneously battling a stomach flu that would have had most people crying in the dirt," he said.
He adds that Martin-Green will be able to fight against walkers or the Saviors as Sasha while fulfilling the duties of a Lieutenant Commander in a Constitution-class starship. Gimple also said that he is willing to juggle with "Star Trek."
He said they had already juggled before and he will "certainly juggle for "Star Trek" any day of the week." He jokingly adds that Sundays will be an exception.
Dan Zinski of Screen Rant, though, is not convinced that Gimple won't be killing off Sasha. He said that unfortunately, Martin-Green's character is not one of the "truly untouchable" in "The Walking Dead" series.
He adds that viewers shouldn't be surprised if, in the near future, Sasha meets her demise from the walkers, from Negan and his group, or from a different but awful way. Ross said that Sasha's character closely resembles Holly in the comic version of the series.
Holly sought revenge against Negan for killing Abraham but was captured when she sacrificed herself to allow the group to escape. She was returned to Alexandria with a bag on her head, which after being taken off, revealed that she's already a walker.
Ross adds that it's possible that Sasha could be killed off in the same way. But he also said that method was already used in "Fear the Walking Dead," so it's questionable if it will be used again.
Ross said, whatever Sasha's fate will be, fans will soon find out as the second half of the hit series will resume on February 12. Check out the midseason finale and the trailer for episode 9 of "The Walking Dead" in the video below.
