It looks like Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) will be getting a new ship in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales," while Orlando Bloom's Will Turner, and possibly his son, will be making an appearance in the fifth movie. Sparrow's ship is called the "Dying Gull."
According to a report from ComicBook, the synopsis of the Disney's fifth film in the franchise revealed the name of Sparrow's new ship. The "Dying Gull" will be setting sail for the first time in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise.
The synopsis describes the new ship as a "pitiful small and shabby ship," which the report says could mean Sparrow will have his pride hurt when the movie begins. The new ship is a departure from the "Black Pearl" that the captain is used to.
But Sparrow's new ship will not be the only thing that the people will need to look out for, as Turner will be returning to the franchise, according to Den of Geek's report. Turner's son could also make an appearance on "Pirates of the Caribbean 5."
The report said that the movie will have two new characters, Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelarion) and Henry (Brenton Thwaites). There wasn't much detail given about Thwaites' character, but it's possible that he could be Turner's son.
The report adds that Henry just wants to "to reconnect with his father. He struggles to break a curse that is preventing him from doing so." Den of Geek said that the statement describes the condition that Turner is in, considering that at the end of "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End," Turner became the new captain of the "Flying Dutchman.
This makes Turner stuck in guiding the souls of people who died at sea to the afterlife. Check out the official trailer for "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales," which will premiere on May 26, 2017.
