‘Pokémon Sun and Moon’ News: Pokémon Bank To Arrive Later This January

Since its release last November, "Pokémon Sun and Moon" has taken the world by storm. The developers of the game are now busy making updates to keep the avid gamers glued to the Nintendo 3DS exclusive game. One of the scheduled additions is the "Pokémon Bank" app which enables players to transfer the Pokémons captured from previous versions of the game to "Sun and Moon".

Pokémon game developer, Game Freak confirmed that the internet based app, "Pokémon Bank" will be available to players sometime in January. The update will enable the players to put their hard collected Pokémon into Internet based storage boxes. In short, this feature will create a backup of your collection in case some problems arise like when the copy of the game is broken.

"Pokémon Bank" also enables players to transfer their collected Pokémon from the previous installments of the "Pokémon" franchise as reported by Pokemon SunMoon. Until now the supported games of the bank are Pokémon Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, X, and Y. The battle tested Pokémon from previous generations will now be able set their foot on Alolan battle fields.

Poké Bank also comes with the updated Poké Transporter feature which enables players to transfer Pokémon from the first generation virtual console versions. Pokémon from Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue, and Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition will now become transferrable once the Pokémon Bank becomes live.

However, there is one huge downside to all the amazing things that "Pokémon Bank" offers. Once players transfer Pokémon from any previous games to "Pokémon Sun and Moon", they can't transfer back their Pokémon to their original game. This makes it hard for players who are still playing previous versions to transfer their beloved Pokémon.

Another update that will be coming to "Sun and Moon" will be the National Pokédex feature. This app will tally all the collected monsters deposited in the bank to a single database from all the sync games.

Pokémon Bank will follow a $ 4.99 annual service fee for those who want to avail the service. According to Attack of the Fan Boy, a recent update was released for "Sun and Moon" but doesn't contain the Pokémon Bank which will probably come later this January.
