'Mass Effect: Andromeda' PC Pre-Load Date Revealed, DLC Season Pass Unlikely

An official date for the release of "Mass Effect: Andromeda" was revealed by BioWare to be on March 21. Fans are now scrambling to place pre-orders of the hit RPG shooting game through Electronic Art's Origin Service. As they placed their orders, fans encountered a pop-up window saying that the game will be available for pre-load on March 17.

According to Gamerant, PC players can have a four day advantage as compared to consoles in acquiring digital copies of the game. EA and BioWare have no official statement regarding the pop-up window but considering that it is within the official website, it is safe to assume that it's true.

As for the required spec for PC gamers, BioWare's general manager, Aaron Flynn revealed that they will be announcing the details sometime in February. Subsequently, the developers of the game promised that they will disclose the multi-player details of the game thereafter.

For players who can't wait even for the pre-load, players can avail the EA Access and become a member. Players who paid for the service will be able to play the game before anyone else literally. However, the developers didn't mention exactly if the whole game will be playable for the service.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" will also likely jump on the bandwagon by expanding through downloadable contents as reported by Polygon. However, Flynn confirmed that there will be no season pass to cover any of the add-ons in the future. This is not surprising as BioWare didn't offer a season pass on the previous installments of the series.

Instead of going with season passes, BioWare and EA provided a series of mixed free and paid add-ons that either came with the game or as a stand-alone item. In a follow-up statement, Flynn claimed that they are planning on a DLC. However, he didn't mention whether it's a story extension or a multi-player DLC saying that they will talk about it later on.
