‘Final Fantasy XV’ Sales Hits Six Million Mark: Moogle Chocobo Carnival Event Opens This January

After its initial release last November 29, "Final Fantasy XV" continued to dominate the gaming world. Last Tuesday, Square Enix announced that the critically acclaimed action RPG has sold more than 6 million copies. The digits consist of the physical games shipped to game stores and the digital version that is sold through Playstation Network and Xbox Live.

This result is far better than what Square Enix has anticipated for the game. On day one, the game sold more than five million copies which set the record for the fastest sales among the "Final Fantasy" titles. The game also set the record for the fastest first-day download sales in Asia as reported by Anime News Network.

After a decade of development, "Final Fantasy XV" was released and the world welcomed the most awaited sequel with open arms and positive feedbacks. The beautiful world of Eos and Lucis Kingdom captivated the mob with its amazing design and graphic quality. The open-world freedom and the new exciting battle system contributed to the game's increasing sales even after hitting the six million mark.

According to WWG, Square Enix is not done yet and is on its way on adding more contents to the game in the future. Keeping players entertained by releasing regular updates is the main objective of the publisher. "To allow players a deeper enjoyment of Final Fantasy XV, regular updates enhancing the main game will be coming soon, such as premium DLC content that will provide players additional gameplay experiences," said the company in a press release.

During the holiday season, "Final Fantasy XV" was given a free game update with the Holiday Pack and the Premium Holiday Pack+. The players who downloaded either of the DLC will be given access to a 'carnival passport' that enables them to join the Moogle Chocobo Carnival. The special in-game event will feature an exciting festival to the whole city of Altissia that will run for a limited time starting January 24.

If Square Enix continued releasing amazing contents, surely the sales of the game will continue to go through the roof. With another game update to improve the in-game camera functions, people on the sidelines will surely be tempted to grab their own copies and start their own adventure.
