Ever since FOX announced the revival of the hit long running thriller TV series "24", fans have been eager to know on how will the new story will follow Jack Bauer, Dammit Chloe and the rest of CTU. Unfortunately, Bauer will be out of the picture which disheartens the fans. However, in the latest trailer released by the network, a major character from the original series will be returning.
Tony Almeida played by Carlos Bernard will be returning as a prisoner with a scruffy looking goatee. According to TV Line, the former CTU agent was sentenced for life in solitary confinement. The return of the CTU Director-turned-vengeful-terrorist excites the fans of the series and left them speculating on what will be Almeida has to offer to the show.
During the Television Critics Association press tour, a question was raised regarding the return of Almeida. The creators simply explained that it felt right that he is the one to come back and not other character. "We love the character and we loved Bernard so much we added that scene in the DVD," said co-creator Manny Coto.
The super hacker Chloe brought some entertainment factor to "24". However, to fan's disappointment, Mary Lynn Rajskub will not be returning to "Legacy". Executive Producer Evan Kantz explained that 12 episodes will not be enough and will create an imbalance with Almeida's return. However he teased that Chloe is possible to comeback in future seasons.
The "Walking Dead" actor Corey Hawkins will also join the show and play the hero Eric Carter as reported by Independent. Carter is a soldier who was formerly a member of an elite counter-terrorist task force. The terrorist group who carter help to bring down will haunt him as the group came back with a plan of a large-scale terror attack on American soil.
In addition to Corey, Hawkins in the lead role, "24: Legacy" will star Miranda Otto, Anna Diop, Teddy Sears, Jimmy Smits, Dan Bucatinsky, Coral Pena, and Charlie Hofheimer. The new show will debut in the US after the Super Bowl on February 5 while UK premier will follow a week later on Valentine's Day, February 14.
