Fans of Firestorm would be happy to know that Robbie Amell will be making a return in the second half of "The Flash" Season 3. However, there's a possibility that Amell will be playing a different Ronnie Raymond upon his return.
As part of the 25 Scoops in 25 Days promo, Entertainment Weekly revealed that Amell will be returning to the show to reprise his role as Raymond. It wasn't discussed, though, how he will return in the second half of season 3.
The report said that the details of Amell's appearance, "whether in a different timeline in which he's still alive or we're meeting a doppelgänger from another universe," wasn't revealed. But it confirmed that he will be appearing in a winter episode.
Raymond died while destroying the singularity responsible for opening up the world to Earth-2. He died just shortly after marrying Caitlin Snow.
John Casteele of Screen Rant said that it's possible the producers of "The Flash" have something different in mind when it comes to Raymond's return. If Amell's character did survive the explosion, then he could play a part in saving Snow from embracing her destiny as Killer Frost.
Casteele also adds that it's possible that Amell will be returning as a different version of Raymond and not the original one. He said Amell could be playing as Raymond who has not developed metahuman powers, which could drive Snow to eventually become Killer Frost.
Speaking about Snow, the second half of the season will also see her struggle with her powers for the rest of the season. A previous report said that this could be the character's internal battle to becoming Killer Frost or to be a superhero.
Though, there weren't many details on how Raymond will return, fans won't be waiting that long as the second half of season 3 is slated to return on January 24, 2017. Check out the trailer for the continuation of "The Flash" in the video below.
