Season 2 of "Supergirl" will have a guest villain for a couple of episodes. The villain is a mischievous imp villain called Mister Mxyzptlk to be played by Peter Gadiot.
Heroic Hollywood has confirmed that Gadiot has been cast as the imp villain for two episodes of the TV series. Gadiot is best known for his role in "Once Upon A Time In Wonderland" as Cyrus. The show was a spin-off from "Once Upon A Time" and was an ABC series, but didn't last long.
Mister Mxyzptlk is originally Superman's villain, but this isn't the first time Supergirl has encountered his cousin's problems, according to Emily Donn of Screen Rant. Draaga made an appearance in the "Survivors" episode and the story followed closely story in the Superman comic books.
The imp villain is known for always wanting to play pranks and it doesn't matter to him who gets hurt in the process. Donn said that there was a time when Mxyzptlk duplicated Doomsday as a prank.
Though he's only interested in playing pranks, he is one of Superman's most powerful enemies, due to advanced technology that's coming from his home world in the fifth dimension, allowing him to do almost anything with only his willpower. As powerful as Mxyztplk is, defeating him only requires for the villain to say his name backwards.
One the imp says it, he is taken back to the fifth dimension and everything he has done automatically goes back to the way it was. And with Mxyzptlk being gullible, it's easy to trick the imp into saying it. It is only temporary, though, as the villain can go back to Earth after 90 days.
