Hiro and Baymax will be coming to your TV screens this year as a "Big Hero 6" TV series is scheduled to air on Disney XD this coming fall. Being on TV offers the producers a chance to explore more the two heroes' adventures.
The short trailer uploaded on YouTube doesn't offer much as it only shows the face of Baymax plate of cookie and his familiar "Bah-a-la-la-la." Then at the end of the teaser is when Disney reveals that the show would be "Coming Fall 2017."
The TV series will be a sequel to the hit "Big Hero 6" movie, which was released in 2014. Screen Crush provided a synopsis of the TV series and it says that it will continue right after the events of the movie.
It "continues the adventures and friendship of 14-year-old tech genius Hiro and his compassionate, cutting-edge robot Baymax," the synopsis read. "Alongside Hiro and Baymax on their journey are control freak Wasabi, scientist Honey Lemon, fanboy Fred and no-nonsense Go Go, who together form the legendary superhero team, Big Hero 6."
Becky Fuller of Screen Rant adds that getting a TV series instead of a movie sequel is actually a "fair compromise" for fans who are waiting for a movie sequel. She said the longevity of a TV series would allow the producers of the show more chance to explore "Hiro and Baymax's adventures as part of the "Big Hero 6."
The synopsis also provided a glimpse of how the show will be played out, with Hiro struggling to fit in with his school, while also saving the city from various villains. The trailer for the "Big Hero 6" TV series can be found in the video below. In other news, Disney earned more than $7 billion in 2016, becoming the first movie studio to do so.
