Apple IOS 10 News: New Features Included In the Upgrade

Last December 12, Apple released their new update to IOS 10, IOS 10.2. Aside from bug fixes and other software improvements, the new IOS update also included some new features. Apple's most recent update, the IOS 10.1 was released last October 31st of this year.

One of the most notable changes in the new IOS is the addition of 100 new emoji characters, with new faces, food, animals, sports, and professions. What stood out in the new emoji characters are the "shrug" characters and "fingers crossed" characters.

A new TV app is also introduced. Some of its features include getting information from iTunes and other sites used for streaming movies and tv shows; getting recommendations for new shows to watch in "Watch Now" option, and with the option 'Next' you can see the current shows you're watching. The app is pre-loaded in the update, but like other pre-loaded apps, users may now have the option to delete them.

For the Photos category, users can now preset the camera's option to whatever settings or filters they prefer, without having to put it in manually each time they access the Camera app. It's called the 'Preserved Settings' camera submenu, and with it locking in your favorite camera mode is now possible.

Faster frame rate for Live Photos is now optimized in the new IOS update. It also fixed the two issues where 'Memories' sometimes include irrelevant pictures such as screenshots and receipts; and if you're using the new iPhone 7 Plus, the problem where the camera sometimes stays zoomed in after you switch back from the 'Camera Roll' is now eradicated.

There are also other small improvements on the Messages app, Music app, News app and Mail app where the IOS update will clearly show in details to each user. To update, just open the Settings app and go the 'General' category. The 'Software Update' option is indicated there, and just follow the necessary steps for the full update.
