Apple iPhone 8 Rumors Says Curved Edge-To-Edge Screen With No Home Button? Release Dates, Specs And More!

The iPhone 7 has just been recently launched, but now there are rumors circulating that the iPhone 8 could be making its debut sometime next year. It couldn't have come at a more convenient time as well because 2017 will be the iPhone's tenth year anniversary, so it only makes sense for Apple to release a brand new model to commemorate this occasion.

The Wall Street Journal reports that the brand new iPhone will have a curve feature. The latest iPhone models, the 7, and 7 plus use LED screens that require backlights. Thus, making the phones a bit larger and heavier than they should be. Making the switch to an OLED screen would be the most logical thing to do for Apple. Smartphones that have adopted these screens including the Google Pixel have been given plenty of positive reviews as a result.

There are also rumors of Apple supposedly testing out at least 10 iPhone prototypes, so there is still no concrete information or details on what we can expect to see. With the amount of test devices available, rumors are still a bit hazy at this time. However, rumors suggest that the phone will undergo a radical redesign and will boast of an edge-to-edge screen. If these were true, then that means the front facing camera and Touch ID finger sensor are most likely going to be built directly into the phone's display. This also means the "Home" button will no longer be there as well. Having an edge-to-edge screen pretty much means the display alone will take up the entire front of the smartphone.

As far as the body goes, Apple is rumored to be going for a glass body that is similar to what was used for the iPhone 4. The processor chip that the iPhone 8 will use is expected to be a 10-nanometer A11 chip designed to make the phone operate faster and more efficiently.

According to a report by MacRumors, Apple is planning to release at least one iPhone model that will have a glass body sometime in 2017. Whether or not these rumors surrounding the features and technical specs of the upcoming iPhone 8 are true still remains to be seen.
