'Minecraft' Publisher Microsoft Offers Xbox Live Discounts

Microsoft has already started offering Black Friday deals for Gold subscribers of the Xbox Live gaming service. The deals started in advance of the actual Black Friday sales week that will be open to all Xbox Live users. The Thanksgiving and Black Friday holidays are the biggest shopping days of the year. Most companies, no matter what size, now need to take advantage of that time of the season.

Some companies offer deals the week before, during, and after the holidays. Microsoft started their sales the week before the holidays and will continue through the Black Friday weekend. They join Apple and Amazon among large corporations that are aiming at video gamers with discounts on bestselling games.

According to Fortune magazine and gaming websites GameSpot and VG247, Microsoft started their mega Black Friday 2016 sales early. The Xbox Live sale started November 18. The publisher of hit game franchises such as Gears of War and Halo, Microsoft revealed the initial lineup of deals for its Xbox Live Black Friday sale. More deals will be added throughout the week.

The list of deals is huge. The list includes both Xbox One and Xbox 360 games. Microsoft's director of programming for the Xbox Live service, Larry Hryb, posted on his official blog that the Minecraft publisher would not only give discounts on games. It will also offer deals on movies and television shows, music, and apps as well.

The Xbox Live Black Friday 2016 sale started on November 18. The sale is exclusive to Xbox Live Gold subscribers until November 22. The sale will continue until November 28, Cyber Monday, and will peak with the most deals on November 25, Black Friday. Gold subscribers will receive additional discounts aside from having exclusive earlier access to the sale. Users who don't have an Xbox Live Gold subscription can take advantage of a limited-time deal. Microsoft is offering one month of Gold subscription for only $1.
