Intel Skylake-X And Kaby Lake-X To Be Launched During The Computex Event In June, Production Of Chips Scheduled For That Timeframe

It looks like Intel won't be waiting until August to launch the Skylake-X and the Kaby Lake-X, as the company is planning to launch them during the Computex Taipei in June. This is because the production schedule of processors almost coincides with the event.

According to a report from WCCF Tech, the leak about Intel's plans was shared by a reliable source in Benchlife.info. The website said that the company's X299 platform, which is codenamed Basin Falls, is launching sometime in June.

The report said that the previous launch date was supposed to be in August, during the Gamescom event. But evidence has Benchlife convinced that it will be released during the Comuptex event on May 31 until June 3.

The reason for this is that the production for the Skylake-X and the Kaby Lake- X processors are scheduled between June 19 and June 25. The report adds that the qualification of the samples of the two processors will take place between May 29 and June 4, which would coincide with the Computex event that will be held in Taipei.

Though the leaked launch date has not been confirmed by Intel, Benchlife's analysis of the possible release date makes a lot of sense. But there is also one possible reason why Intel is moving up the release of the Skylake-X and the Kaby Lake-X processors, and that's because of the AMD Ryzen processors.

TweakTown reports that AMD's new Ryzen processors has shaken up the CPU market and has somehow caught the attention of Intel. The threat of the new processors has likely shaken up the company's psyche, prompting them to release their new processors early.

The report adds that the difference between the Skylake-X and the Kaby Lake-X is that the Kaby Lake will offer four cores, while the Skylake will offer up to 10 cores. For more details about the two processors, check out the video below.
