"Tokyo Ghoul" has been one of the most highly-anticipated anime even if the series diverted away from the manga in the previous season. Many are still waiting for its third season to be released where it will continue the story of Kaneki Ken and his struggles as a ghoul. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a little longer as previous reports suggest that the hit dark fantasy series will be far from its release date.
The series has been subject to numerous speculations and rumors especially the release date where the most recent was the accident announcement of Kevin Hamric, the Senior Director of Sales and Marketing at Viz Media. He mentioned in an interview that the series will be released later this year following the second season of "One Punch Man." However, it turns out that Hamric misspoke or was misquoted and it should be "My Hero Academia "instead of "Tokyo Ghoul."
According to Telegiz, one of probable reason for the delay is the upcoming live-action adaptation movie that is slated to release sometime in summer of this year. It is possible that the writers for the anime took the job of making the scripts for the movie. The film was directed by Kentaro Hagiwara that features the award-winning actor Masataka Kubota to play the half ghoul - half human protagonist, Kaneki Ken aka Eye Patch.
Meanwhile, the "Tokyo Ghoul" craze has reached YouTube where users began sharing their opinions regarding the future events on the series as reported by Korea Portal. Fans speculated that the upcoming Season 3 will focus around Haise Sasaki, an Associate Special Class Ghoul Investigator who previously worked as a mentor to the Quinx Squad. In the manga, Sasaki was the name that Kaneki Ken adapted when he was defeated by Kishou Arima and suffered an amnesia.
While waiting for Season 3, fans can indulge themselves in the upcoming "Tokyo Ghoul" live-action film that is slated to hit the theaters on July 29, 2017. The world renowned Japanese designer Masanori Morikawa, designed the mask and costumes that will be used in the film.
