Fans still have a long wait before they're able to watch "Daredevil" Season 3, as it's scheduled to come out in 2018. But the wait will be worth it as there's a possibility the Kingpin could return as the villain with Luke Cage and Jessica Jones making guest appearances.
According to a report from The News Recorder, Netflix is airing two Marvel shows per year and with two shows already scheduled to come out in 2017, there's no room for a third show. "Iron Fist" just debuted this March, while Marvel's "The Defenders" are set for a 2017 release date.
This leaves "Daredevil" Season 3 with a 2018 release date which is the target year for Netflix to air the show. "Jessica Jones" Season 2 will also likely be aired on 2018.
Although it will be a long wait, considering season 2 of the show premiered last March 2016, it will be worth the wait for fans. Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio), who's also known as the Kingpin, could possibly make a comeback as the main villain of season 3.
In an interview with Collider last July, D'Onofrio confirmed that the Kingpin will be coming back, he just doesn't know when it will be. He said that he would "want to do Marvel all the time," because the team is so "creative."
But Kingpin is not the only villain to possibly make an appearance. Den of Geek reports that Charlie Cox, who plays Matt Murdock (Daredevil) in the series, wants to see Bullseye in the show. He said it would be an "interesting opportunity."
Aside from the Kingpin, Jon Bernthal's the Punisher will likely be part of the series. The report also said that Mike Colter's Luke Cage and Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones could also make a guest appearance, though it's not yet certain.
For now, fans will have to wait until 2018 before "Daredevil" Season 3 will premiere on Netflix. Check out the announcement teaser for the series in the video below.
