‘Nashville’ Season 5 Cast: Rachel Bilson, Kaitlin Doubleday Signed Up Roles For Upcoming Season

"Nashville" will be adding new faces in the second half of the season 5. These stars, Rachel Bilson and Kaitlin Doubleday will debut its role after the wake of the star Connie Britton. Just recently, these two actresses signed for their roles in this popular country music drama. This series will be produced by Lionsgate, ABC Studios, and Opry Entertainment.

As of now, there were no further details released about their characters. However, the actresses shared some clues by posting an image of Rayna Jame's record label Highway 65 and the Bluebird Café. Apparently, the two are expected to portray major characters on the series.

As per Deadline, the series executive producer and showrunner, Marshall Herskovitz, already welcomed the ladies into their talented cast. He added that they are already anticipating that the second half of the season 5 will be a lot more surprising with some twists and turns that will make its fans love "Nashville" more.

The series will be produced by Ed Zwick, alongside Steve Buchanan and Callie Khouri and the series creator Herskovitz. "Nashville" still center on the backdrop of the city's music scene which will follow the lives of the country music superstars as well as with the performers and songwriters.

Furthermore, the casting news about Bilson and Doubleday came two weeks after Britton was killed in her series character. Since August 2016, Britton's future on the series was already questioned by the time it was revealed that she wanted to abridged workloads in season 5, as per Hollywood Reporter.

Meanwhile, the character of Doubleday will be a great comeback for her after she finished the "Empire." Her character was killed in the season 3 premiere. As for Bilson, her upcoming role definitely will bring her back to the screen which followed her four-season stint on "Hart of Dixie." As of now, the exit of Britton and the addition of these two characters were just the recent changes to expect from "Nashville."
