Marvel is planning to come out with a new anime series, entitled "Marvel Future Avengers," that is intended to target a young audience base. The new series will follow the story of a young boy, who gained superpowers due to an evil experiment, and will be mentored by the Avengers.
According to a report from Anime News Network, the boy will be named Makoto and he will be joined by other youths who have superpowers as well. Upon joining the Avengers, kids will be under the tutelage of Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, and Wasp.
The current superheroes will be training these superpowered youth, which will be called the "Future Avengers," and help them fight villains and grow to be the future protectors of the Earth. The report adds that the new series will also have its own manga version.
Teruaki Mizuno will be the one to draw the manga version and it will debut in the April issue of the Bessatsu Coro Coro Comics Special of Shogakukan. The issue shipped on Tuesday, February 28, 2017.
This is not the first time Marvel will be trying its hand on an anime series as it already created anime shows such as "Wolverine," the "X-Men," "Iron Man," and "Blade." All four series were created with the help of Madhouse and were aired on The U.S. G4 TV channel.
Aside from TV series, Marvel and Madhouse also created anime movies such as the "Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher," and the "Iron Man: Rise of Technovore." The "Marvel Future Avengers" will debut on the Disney Japan's satellite channel called Dlife this summer.
Game Spot reports that it is currently unknown if the said anime series will also be airing in the U.S. For now, the new TV show will be enjoyed by Japanese fans. To check out the image for the new anime TV show and learn more details, check out the video below.
