‘Nashville’ Season 5 Latest News & Update: Passing Of The Queen

"Nashville" Season 5 went 'Game of Thrones' mode when Episode 9 hit the screens last Thursday. The episode titled 'If Tomorrow Never Comes' marked the end of one of the most beloved character in the series, Rayna Jaymes. Fans are devastated by the shocking event which lead to questions on what to happen next on the musical drama series.

According to Global News, Rayna was caught up in a horrendous car accident and she was brought to a hospital in Tennessee where she spent her final moments. Connie Britton who played the character of Rayna explained that she alone decided that she will be leaving the show. "It has been really hard saying goodbye and I have loved this character so much," said Britton.

The actress have been planning to leave the show for a while and she is just waiting for the right time to exit the show. It may be unusual for a TV show to eliminate one of its lead stars in the middle of the story but Britton claimed that Rayna's death did justice to everybody. She added that she really liked the show and the decision of leaving put a huge burden on her.

Marshall Herskovitz stated that Britton approached him saying that she wants to leave the show with grace and they talked for a way where Rayna could exit without her dying. However, their effort remained fruitless and they are forced to kill Rayna even if it would be painful for the cast, the staff and the fans. Herkovitz said that there is no other alternative that they could think off to send off Rayna without her dying as stated by TV Line.

The viewers are incredibly shocked with the unfolding of the events. Many got angry at the show makers while others said that they will not watch the series anymore. Killing Rayna is a big gamble and surely the show makers considered the fan's behavior regarding this matter. Hopefully, the show will have some sort of counterattack to soften the blow of Rayna's passing and keep everyone interested in the show.
