Kerry Washington, the star of ABC's hit series "Scandal," would be delighted to play Domino in "Deadpool 2." That is if the part is offered to her.
ExtraTV said that they asked Washington about playing Domino and if the part was already offered to her. The actress, however, "played coy" and just said that she has nothing to say with regards to the part being offered.
But Washington, who is rumored to be the top choice to play the X-Men character, would take the role if offered. She did add, though, that they "have to get the right person for whatever role" is being portrayed.
Rose Moore of Screen Rant said that actors and actresses are required to keep quiet about information regarding a movie part. Some, even if they have already accepted the part, are denying the rumor.
Moore mentions Jason Momoa, who played Khal Drogo in "Game of Thrones," because he refused to admit accepting the role of Aquaman. Momoa only admitted the casting after the DC Extended Universe made the news public.
If Washington is indeed cast as Domino in "Deadpool 2," it wouldn't be her first time to be part of the superhero world. Washington was part of "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," playing Alicia Masters, the love interest of Michael Chiklis' Ben Grimm/Thing.
Moore adds, though, that Washington's casting would not be taken lightly by some comic book purists. Domino in the comic books is originally white and giving the role to Washington might not be liked by the purists, who don't like to "changes in their favorite hero."
Nevertheless, she said Washington would be a great choice to play Domino in "Deadpool 2." Check out the after credits scene of the first "Deadpool" movie, which it teases the sequel and mentions that Cable, who is rumored to be played by Pierce Brosnan, will be part of it.
