‘Deadpool 2’ News: Pierce Brosnan To Play As Cable, Ryan Reynolds Will Reveal Upcoming Updates

Deadpool may have found the actor to play Cable as there are talks on-going with former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan to play the time-traveling mutant in "Deadpool 2." The updates and confirmation regarding the negotiation will likely come from Ryan Reynolds himself.

According to a report from Cooper Hood of Screen Rant, the rumor of Brosnan playing Cable started when Reynolds and Hugh Jackman both shared a photo of the two of them together with Brosnan. But the evidence of him playing the role increased when reporter Simon Thompson, in an episode of "Meet the Movie Press," spoke about his encounter with the Director of the movie David Leitch.

The report said that Thompson jokingly congratulated Leitch on landing Brosnan for the role of Cable, to which Leitch replied they "have not, yet." Thompson then asked Jeff Sneider of Tracking Board and Justin Kroll of Variety about Brosnan's role in the movie.

Sneider said that he knows the role of Cable will be going to Brosnan. Hood said that this seemed like a confirmation and all the reporters agree that Cable is the most likely role that Brosnan will be playing unless they cast him as the villain, which is not yet identified.

Hood adds that Brosnan fits the older mold that Leitch and Reynolds are looking for to play Cable, and the James Bond star does have experience in action movies. Hood said, though, that Brosnan will just have to add some muscle if he's going to play the role.

ComicBook reported that Thompson said any updates or reveals about the "Deadpool 2" movie, whether it be the character or casting, will likely come from Reynolds himself. So it's best for fans to constantly check Reynolds Twitter account for any updates.

"Deadpool 2" is scheduled to come out on January 12, 2018. Check out the after credit scene that teased about Cable being in the sequel.
