Sansa Stark will live to fight another day, at least until the finale season, as Sophie Turner inadvertently revealed that her character Stark won't die in "Game of Thrones" Season 7. Turner said that she'll be shooting season 8 of the hit series after filming the next "X-Men" movie.
Jon Lyus of HeyUGuys caught up with Turner during the 2017 British Academy Film Awards and had a chance to get some updates on her latest projects. Aside from Stark of "Game of Thrones," Turner also plays Jean Grey from the X-Men franchise.
Lyus said that Turner revealed the tidbits during her red carpet walk. She said they're already "about to start shooting the next X-Men," as they've "just finished shooting Season 7 of [Game of] Thrones."
Turner also revealed there are "a couple of movies" she needs to do before "X-Men" then she goes "on to season 8." Though she did not say what her character Stark will be doing in season 7 of the hit series, her statement reveals that she will at least survive it.
Rose Moore of Screen Rant reports that "Game of Thrones" have been known to kill off its major characters. With season 7 set to return this summer, there have been speculations already as to who will die this season and who will survive.
Moore adds that, though Turner's revelation makes it safe to assume Stark will survive, it's still not a guaranteed. It could be that Stark still dies in season 7 but Turner will need to return for season 8 to shoot flashbacks or visions.
Stark could also be killed off in the first two episodes of season 8, as it's possible for season 7 to end in a cliffhanger, according to Moore. For now, it's still hard to be certain about Stark's survival until season 7 actually ends.
