"Overwatch" developers are now planning to remove Roadhog's Chain-Boops. It appears that the developers are perfecting Roadhog into a masterpiece as the character has been receiving tweak every now and then.
Recently, it was reported that the upcoming "Overwatch" update on PTR tweaked Roadhog. The changes for Roadhog in the PTR include a decreased Scrap Gun spread of 20 percent. In addition, His Chain Hook was tweaked, its cooldown now increased from six to eight. Moreover, the latest tweak made targets pulled to a location 3.5 meters away, up from 2 meters. According to Battlenet, the Roadhog changes overall reduce the power of his hook a bit, but his gun is now more effective when not using the hook.
In addition, the most recent modifications to the hook and scrap gun spread of Roadhog in the "Overwatch" PTR, have also changed the heroes that can be one-shot with his combo. The latest enhancements disable Roadhog to melee after the first shot. In addition, the 3.5-meter range set for him is too far a distance for the move to hit. This most probably disallows you from clutching the kill if you get an unfortunate bullet spread.
This issues about the recent changes in "Overwatch's" Roadhog has been raised by Battlenet user Dave. He stated that he is fine with the changes the developers are making for Roadhog except when hooking someone who is right up on in front of your face, at any point closer than 3.5 meters. He added that on the PTR at present when you hook someone that is 3.5 meters or closer to Roadhog, they actually go backward in a shuddering way, which is a way a chain hook should not work. Moreover, Dave said that when someone is that close to Roadhog, and he goes for a hook and lands it, the person should just get stunned and not moved backward. This adds to the fact that someone getting in that close is in his space should be dead.
Lead Software Engineer Bill Warnecke responded to this saying that they are working on the Roadhog issues right now. "Overwatch" players are looking forward to Roadhog's final tweak and hoping that the character will not encounter the same issues in the future.
