‘Dragon Ball Super’ Episode 78 Recap: All Losing Universes To Be Erased, While Majin Buu Starts Off Preview Match With Universe 9

Episode 78 of "Dragon Ball Super" has revealed that the "Tournament of Power" will be a matter of life and death, as Zen-Oh will be erasing the losing universes. The episode also showcased Majin Buu starting off the preview match with universe 9, fighting against an alien fox man.

According to a report from Damian Seeto of Empty Lighthouse Magazine, the episode has revealed the details of the tournament. The Grand Priest told Goku, Beerus, Whis and the kais that the winner of the tournament will be granted any wish from the Super Dragon Balls.

Seeto adds that the Dragon Balls have already been gathered, with Champa providing three of them. But what shocked everyone and has made them all concerned is that the losing universe of the tournament will be erased, leaving only one universe to be spared.

Seeto said Goku wanted to talk to Zen-Oh to change his mind, but Whis advised him not to, saying he might be erased on the spot for not following orders. He adds that the only way he sees this arc ending is that Goku would win the whole thing and wished for all the universes to be brought back from being erased.

Aside from the tournament details, episode 78 of "Dragon Ball Super" also featured Goku, Gohan, and Buu in a preview match against Universe 9. The three will be facing off against alien fox men and Buu was the first fighter.

Only a portion of the fight was shown in the episode, though, and it begins with Buu getting kicked around. But a report from Anime News Network said that the episode ended with a great cliffhanger, showing Buu with a mischievous smile after getting himself beaten by the opponent.

The report adds that the mischievous smile hints that the pink blob is ready to turn the match up a notch, which will continue in episode 79. Check out the preview for "Dragon Ball Super" Episode 79 in the video below.
