Apple iOS 10.3 is packed with loads of new features. However, there is one good feature that was not revealed to users and not included in the release notes.
In the settings of Apple iOS 10.3 Verizon customers have unveiled that the carrier has an infused option for Integrated Calling or Calls on other Devices. MacRumors discover this feature and users only need to perform simple steps to activate it. To do this, navigate to Settings, then to Phone, then access the Calls on Other Devices and turn it on. This will enable you to see all the devices that you can connect and toggle them on or off individually. The feature known as Wi-Fi Calling makes Verizon customers at par with iPhone owners on AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile who have had access to this feature for a while now.
Wi-Fi Calling feature allows iPhone users to make and receive Wi-Fi calls on other iCloud-connected devices. This includes the iPad, iPod touch, Apple Watch, and majority of 2012 and later models of Mac. The feature works even if the iPhone is switched off or not using the same Wi-Fi network. The devices must be signed into the same Apple ID used on the iPhone.
AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile already back Wi-Fi Calling on supported iCloud-connected devices. Among the four major carriers in the United States, Verizon was the last to have this. Smaller U.S. carriers such as Simple Mobile, MetroPCS, and a few other international carriers also support Wi-Fi Calling feature.
Forbes notes that Verizon customers who would like to have the enhanced WiFi Calling should get the iOS 10.3 beta released currently. For users who have not signed up for iOS beta releases, you can do it at Apple's Beta Software Program site. Take note, however, that bugs are found often in betas so for those who would prefer to wait for the final release of iOS 10.3, it is expected to come in March.
