"Fallout Shelter" will transport its Dweller management and Vault building and to Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs. The move is scheduled to take place on February 7.
"Fallout Shelter" developer Bethesda Softworks, through Xbox Livewire, announced that the game will release on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs. The free-to-play game will be carried over to the two platforms from its release on mobile and PC. "Fallout Shelter" will feature the extra benefit of Xbox Play Anywhere compatibility. This will enable users to shift seamlessly from Xbox One to PC and vice versa, and carry over progress and save files among others.
Together with progress/saves and achievements being shared between both platforms, "Fallout Shelter" has also been modified to work with the Xbox One controller. This provides players a more comfortable playing experience as compared to the touchscreen of a smartphone.
"Fallout Shelter's" gameplay assigns players as an Overseer. It tasks them to build and maintain their vault, manage dwellers and assign tasks. The game also ventures players out into the wasteland to collect necessary supplies. "Fallout Shelter" has extra features introduced over various expansions including new locations and enemies, pets, crafting, and customization options for dwellers, says, Slash Gear.
Dubbed as one of the most downloaded mobile games in 2015, "Fallout Shelter" has technically been playable on PC since summer of 2016 through Steam. This version, however, will be available now through Microsoft's Xbox Store and Windows Store, making it compatible with Play Anywhere features as mentioned earlier.
"Fallout Shelter" was originally released during Bethesda's first press conference at E3 2015. The game brings a smaller-scaled taste of the "Fallout" universe to players by enabling them to build and establish their own community of Vault Dwellers. "Fallout Shelter" is available now for PC, iOS, and Android.
