It looks like Paramount Pictures couldn't wait for Super Bowl LI on Sunday to preview the latest trailer of the live-action "Ghost in the Shell" movie. The new trailer shows actress Scarlet Johansson in action.
The new teaser, which was uploaded on YouTube by Paramount, shows Johansson, who plays Major Motoko Kusanagi, punching heads, smashing through windows, and more. The trailer also showed a scene where part of Johansson's face is removed to show that she the gears that are underneath her face.
A voice over can also be heard in the background while several are being played in the trailer. The voice over is saying "they did not save your life, they stole it."
The trailer, which was entitled "Ghost in the Shell (2017) - Big Game Spot - Paramount Pictures," was supposed to be played during Super Bowl LI on Sunday, February 5. But Paramount decided to upload it to YouTube last February 2.
Game Spot reported that "Ghost in the Shell" was one of the important anime movies that were able to capture the western audience in the 1990s. It started as a manga series in 1989 and was created by Masamune Shirow.
The show is expected to be released on March 31 and is directed by Rupert Sanders, director of "Snow White and the Huntsman." Joining Johansson in the cast are Pilou Asbæk, who plays Euron Greyjoy in "Game of Thrones," Juliette Binoche, Takeshi Kitano, and Michael Pitt.
According to a report from Variety, "Ghost in the Shell will not be the only film that Paramount will be airing during the Super Bowl.
