Obsidian Entertainment caused some stir for fans who are eagerly waiting for any hint about "Fallout: New Orleans." But the company's latest footage is squashing that hope and possibly hinted at "Pillars of Eternity 2."
According to James Kozanitis of GameRevolution, the eagerness started when Obsidian linked a cryptic image in a forum of their website that's entitled "Project Louisiana." He adds that New Orleans is the largest city in the state of Louisiana, which had people thinking of the latest "Fallout" game.
Unfortunately for fans waiting for a "Fallout" game update, the latest image found on Obsidian's website shows that the game in development is not "Fallout: New Orleans." Kozanitis said that it most likely points to a "Pillars of Eternity 2."
He said that the word "Leaden Key" on the text message that goes along with the image is part of the "Pillars of Eternity" franchise. He adds that the term gives reference to the secret organisation.
Feargus Urquhart, the CEO of Obsidian, already confirmed in an interview with GamePressure last May 2016 that they are developing a "Pillars of Eternity 2." He said that time that they are already moving forward on the game.
"That is probably something that we want to look at [in terms of crowdfunding]," Urquhart said. "I think people felt like we delivered on our promise, and then that felt like we could go with Eternity II and people would support us again because they trust us."
PC Gamer said in a report that the "Fallout: New Orleans" game doesn't have any support for its development. The company shot down rumours of its development last summer, stemming from a European Union trademark filing. The report adds that the filing doesn't seem to appear anymore as well.
