PS4 Slim Glacier White Announced For Japan and Europe Release

Recently, Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that they are releasing a new color variant for their PlayStation 4 slim model. The new Glacier White color option will be launched in Japan with a choice of 500 gigabyte or 1 terabyte memory capacity in January 23. The 500 GB model will amount to 29,980 yen ($ 259) while the 1 TB unit will be available for 34,980 yen ($ 302).

Aside from the beautiful paint job, there is no other observable difference between the console and its Jet Black counterpart as reported by EnGadget. However, these will surely be offered in a range of exclusive bundles in the near future. To match the console, a DualShock controller with the same white paint job will be offered to gamers.

Sony's new slim version of the console has taken the market by storm after its initial release during the holidays. Millions and still counting of units are shipped here and there adding boost to Sony's momentum. To entice others who are still on the sidelines, Sony began materializing the all-new color paint job for the console.

According to Siliconera, the 500 GB version of the new Glacier White console will also be available to Europe on January 24 for €299 and £259. "The Glacier White PlayStation 4 will be available across the PAL region from 24th January, joining the original console color version and comes with a 500GB HDD and an accompanying Glacier White Dualshock 4," said European PlayStation Blog upon their announcement.

PS4 Slim has received a lot of peculiar aesthetic upgrade selections over a short period of time. One of the most notable skins that Sony released is the exclusive "Final Fantasy XV" PS4 Slim Edition. Unfortunately, the North American debut of the console is still a no-show and there is no word on a release as of now. However, considering that white consoles tend to do well stateside, an announcement will soon be made.
