A series of small earthquakes shook Southern and Central California on Friday September 7. A 3.5 magnitude earthquake was reported at 12:03 a.m.
The U.S. Geological Survey said that more than 4,000 people check in on their website to say they felt the quake.
After that a 4.0 magnitude quake was reported at 6:22 a.m. about six miles from the city of Huron. A minute later a 4.1 magnitude quake struck in the same area.
There have been no reported damages or injuries due to the quakes and Beverly Hills police Sargent Sean Dexter said to the Associated Press, "There was no damage, nothing. It was one kind of big bump and it was over."
The Los Angeles Fire department sent firefighters and helicopters to check for infrastructure problems and nothing was found.
A 3.2 magnitude quake was recorded on Monday with the epicenter in Beverly Hills.
Kate Hutton a Caltech seismologist said to the AP that the quakes are probably related. "Technically the first is a foreshock and the 3.5 the main event. But some people would call it a doublet since they are so similar," she said.
Many of the world's most famous stars took to Twitter saying they felt the quake.
Michael Jackson's sister, La Toya:
"We just had the worst felt earthquake ever! I'm on the phone with Brenda Richie & screaming! I'm so nervous..."
Jason Alexander:
"Well, that little rumbler shook the house here in LA."
Kelly Osbourne:
"Was there just another earthquake in LA or am I crazy?"
