50 Cent Hospitalized After Car Accident

Yesterday, rapper 50 Cent was singing "you can find me in da hospital" instead of "you can find me in da club" after getting into a car accident.

The hip-hop star got into a pretty bad early morning car crash in Queens, New York. Curtis Jackson aka 50 cent was being driven in his bulletproof SUV when he was rear-ended by a Mack truck on the Long Island Expressway. The car almost flipped over from the impact.

The story first broke on 50 Cent's website ThisIs50.com and photos were posted of the incident. The photos show him wearing a neck brace and being put on a stretcher. It also shows damage to the SUV and the truck involved in the accident.

The rapper was taken away on a stretcher to New York Hospital Queens in Flushing, New York. He suffered from minor neck and back injuries, however "He was released Tuesday morning and is doing fine," the website said.

The site reported that the driver of the truck said the truck's load shifted and he lost control of the vehicle. The driver was also hospitalized.

50 is no stranger to pain as in 2000, he survived an attack in which he was shot nine times. Since then, the rapper has been very successful. He has had two No.1 albums on the Billboard charts. His first album released in 2003 "Get Rich or Die Tryin," sold more than six million copies. His following album in 2005,"The Massacre" sold five million. In April, he was listed as the fifth-wealthiest hip-hop artist by Forbes for being worth $110 million, Reuters reports.

The accident occurred just hours after 50 Cent's new music video for his song "Complicated" was released. The excitement of the video release was overshadowed by the accident.
