Emma Watson 'Beauty And The Beast': Dan Stevens Of 'Downton Abbey' To Play Beast? Luke Evans To Play Gaston? [SPOILERS]

Emma Watson "Beauty and the Beast" - It appears that the lovely Belle has finally found her beloved Beast. Apart from the production studio revealing their star for the lead male role, Disney also revealed the actor to play the good-looking villain, Gaston. Here plus more spoilers after the jump.

The highly anticipated Emma Watson "Beauty and the Beast" film was much talked about in the year 2013. There were reports stating Watson would play Belle in the Guillermo del Toro directed "Beauty and the Beast"' film. However, by 2014 del Toro announced that he'd be leaving the film.

While fans had been left hanging on the news that there would be no Emma Watson "Beauty and the Beast" film, the actress surprised them all when she tweeted all about it. Disney has now taken on the helm to produce the film with "Harry Potter's" brightest witch of them all as the lead.

"I'm finally able to tell you... that I will be playing Belle in Disney's new live-action Beauty and the Beast! It was such a big part of my growing up, it almost feels surreal that I'll get to dance to 'Be Our Guest' and sing 'Something There'. My six year old self is on the ceiling - heart bursting. Time to start some singing lessons. I can't wait for you to see it. Emma xx," posted Emma on Twitter.

Now, the latest news on Emma Watson's "Beauty and the Beast" is that the male lead for Beast has been cast. Watson's beloved Beast would be played by none other than Dan Stevens. Stevens is known for his role in "Downton Abbey." The actor even posted a photo stating "Beast Mode," which likely confirms the news.

As for the villain Gaston in Emma Watson's "Beauty and the Beast" film, the character would be brought to life by Luke Evans. Evans is known for his roles in the film "Dracula Untold" and "The Hobbit."
