Family Guy has merged with the Simpsons in this special Simpsons Family Guy crossover episode. This episode was first released during the Comic Con, and it showed Peter Griffin and Homer Simpson acting like old-time friends. Additionally, Stewie seems to be very eager to impress Bart Simpson, who, in turn, calls up Moe's tavern to make an epic prank call.
Stewie is interested in doing something similar, but his macabre adult humor does not go well when he informed Moe, "Hello Moe, your sister's just been raped." Brian just simply watches on without saying much about the revealed teaser trailer. However, he did give out a hint that this crossover episode would just be a one-off. He said, "I don't know. This looks like a one-shot deal."
This crossover with Family Guy is perhaps a means of the creative team of "The Simpsons" to shake up the format of the internationally famous long-running show, especially after it suffered an all-time low just earlier this year. The Simpsons Family Guy crossover is their attempt at boosting their show's ratings.
Showrunner Al Jean also confirmed that a very popular character from "The Simpsons" has been set to die soon. Although there were no further details provided as to who this particular character is, there were a few hints dropped that it is most likely going to be Krusty the Clown. The character with an ill fate has already won an Emmy for their work on the show, with Jean confirming that this character is "great" but is not necessarily "iconic." If it really is going to be Krusty the Clown, he might feel sad about being called as less iconic compared to his co-stars.
The Simpsons Family Guy crossover episode, which they entitled "The Simpsons Guy" will be premiering on Fox in the US on the 28th of September.
