Like any other personalities, the media just can't resist featuring the first child of President Barack Obama. As her parents become a huge icon in the media, Malia Obama isn't excluded in the picture. Being the U.S. President's daughter, she often meets with the critic's eyes.
Malia Ann Obama who was born on July 4, 1998 is currently attending private Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C. together with her younger sister, Sasha. No matter how their parents want them to live a private life as possible, the first daughters are always being eyed by media since they have become high-profile individuals after their father became a president.
As President Obama served his presidency all these years, her eldest daughter who was once a small girl is now in her teen-age years. The first daughter is now turning 16 and the media are also curious regarding her dating life. Previous interview of Mr. President Obama in Reuters stated that he is not worried if his daughter starts to date.
Although Mr. Obama is the president of the United States, he also said in the interview that as a father for Sasha and Malia Obama, he worries getting in the way with the girls in having a normal life. He also added that he taught them how to make a decision regarding relationships.
When asked about dating, the president said in an interview:
"What I've told them before is, as long as that young man is showing you respect, and is kind to you, then I'm not going to be hovering over every second," he said.
Living a private life in front of the media may not that be easy for Malia Obama and her sister Sasha but it was reported that the president and his wife are working very hard to keep the life of their children from the public eye most especially now that the girls are growing so fast.
